How to Change Text in Invoice Template in Magento 2?

The invoice template is a must-have thing for every store owner and it is mainly required just after an order’s submission. Though it is the last step, but no one wants to lose their customer’s impression even in this last stage. To expand you upon this Magento’s default invoice template feature, we have come up with some pretty straightforward steps to help you in changing the text in your invoice template in Magento 2. No complicated coding is required anymore!

  1. Navigate to

    >>data/magento2/app/code/Magento/Sales/Model/Order/Pdf/Invoice.php
  2. Now, check the file Invoice.php

Note: Always overwrite them in your own theme. (Don’t edit them directly)

For example:

Go to line number 150, you will see the following code:

$this->insertDocumentNumber($page, __('Invoice # ') .
  1. Now, add a word of your own choice or edit it as per your need as shown in the example below:

Note: We have added the word “Envision” here:
$this->insertDocumentNumber($page, __('Envision Invoice # ') .
  1. And, that’s it! It will update your printed invoice pdf.
